a2’s Mission
What are we about?

…to glorify God and lead people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

a2’s Core Values

Core Value #1: God First!
We call it worship. It’s about expressing our love and devotion to God. It’s responding to all that God is with all that we are. We want to honor God in everything we do by worshipping passionately, praying intensely, living with integrity and always doing our best. (Matthew 22:36-37; Colossians 3:17, 23; Malachi 1:6-14)

Core Value #2: People Matter
People matter to God and they ought to matter to us. We reach out to people who haven’t experienced a relationship with God and invite them into the adventure of a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. (Luke 5:30-32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14; 28:19-20)

Core Value #3: Love and Acceptance
We love and accept people unconditionally, right where they are, no strings attached, and lead them to the healing and wholeness available in Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:8; John 13:34-35)

Core Value #4: Celebrate Diversity
The first century church was a diverse church. We believe that ethnic diversity reveals the beauty and creativity of our great God. It is an earthly picture of what heaven will be like. We will pursue ethnic diversity and racial reconciliation. (Galatians 3:26-29; Revelation 5:9)

Core Value #5: Life Change
We believe in God’s ability to radically transform and change lives from the inside out through the person of the Holy Spirit and the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We diligently pursue spiritual growth and personal transformation. (Ephesians 4:22-32; Hebrews 12:1; Philippians 1:6; Romans 12:1-2; Luke 9:23; 2 Peter 3:18)

Core Value #6: Everyone Belongs
We were made to do life together. We believe that lasting life change, personal transformation and spiritual growth best occur in the context of authentic, life-giving relationships. (Acts 2:42, 46-47; 1 John 4:7-13)

Core Value #7: Biblical Truth and Cultural Relevance
We will be true to God’s Word and relevant to our culture. We will never be out of date, out of touch or out of sync with God. We strive to be creative, innovative, practical, excellent and uncompromising in presenting the truth of God’s unchanging Word to our changing culture. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Timothy 4:1-5)

Core Value #8: Creativity and Artistry
We believe that God is the master artist. He paints on a canvas as big as the Universe. We desire to move people towards a God-centered vision of the arts that expresses itself through worship, the discipleship of artists, and creating a life-giving community where artists are inspired to use their gifts to glorify God and inspire people. (Psalm 19:1 Exodus 31:2; 35:30-35)

Core Value #9: Make A Difference
We believe that God has given every individual some amazing gifts. We champion the gifts, talents and abilities of every individual and challenge them to use these gifts to honor God by serving others and making a difference in our community and world. (Mark 10:45; 1 Corinthians 12, 14; Romans 12; Ephesians 4; 1 Peter 4:10)

Core Value #10: Pray Hard
We will pray like everything depends on God and work like everything depends on us. (Ephesians 6:19-20; Colossians 4:2-6)

a2’s Statement of Faith
What do we believe?

The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it bears. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – each possessing all the attributes of Deity.

God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from Him. Salvation comes only through God’s saving grace – not human effort – and must be received personally by repentance and faith.

Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplishes salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between us and God. He will return to earth to consummate history.

The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ, equips believers for personal growth and service and empowers believers to share the message of God’s love with the unchurched.

The church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need.

At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Those forgiven through Jesus Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God. Those who have not received the free gift of forgiveness offered through Jesus Christ will be eternally separated from God in a place called hell.
