Baby Dedication

The birth of a child is exciting, challenging, scary and beautiful – all at the same time…  In the middle of all that is changing in your home with the addition of a new baby, baby dedication represents the opportunity to take a moment to focus on what really matters most.

No one will have more influence on a child’s life than their parents.  We believe that what happens at home is more important than what happens at church.  And one of the things we want to do at a2 church is partner with parents right from the very beginning. We want to be a parent’s biggest fans, strongest supporters, and pastors who care, inspire and challenge them to raise their child to know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Baby dedication is more than an event, it is a spiritual act where parents commit themselves to provide their children with a godly example and spiritual foundation for life.  In a very real way, baby dedication essentially involves the spiritual commitment of parents who, like Joshua in the Old Testament, make a stand and determine, “…as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).

Baby Dedication is also an excellent opportunity to reach out to your family and friends.  Invite them to attend the weekend worship experience with you on the date of your child’s dedication.  If you will let us know how many will be attending with you, we’ll attempt to reserve special seating for you, your family and your friends.

Our next opportunity for public baby dedication will take place on Sunday, November 20 during the 9:45 am Worship Experience.  If you are interested in your child participating, please email us us at info@a2church.org.

There comes a point in time, when IT’S YOUR MOVE… It was true of every “MVP” in the Bible – Abraham, Noah, Moses, David, Gideon, Peter, Paul, you name it… There came a moment when they all had to DO something…  It’s almost as if God moved and then said to them, “Now, it’s your move…” And when they moved, GOD MOVED AGAIN and AGAIN in mind blowing ways!

Once a person admits that he or she is a sinner and turns to Christ for salvation, the Bible says that a person should proclaim the life change that has occurred. The watching world needs to know. Baptism has always stood as a public testimony for people who have moved from being a “seeker” to being a “believer” in Christ.

Believers are those who have realized that their sin has separated them from God. They have given up all efforts to reach God through good works or religious activity. They have concluded that Jesus Christ’s death on the cross for their sins is the only thing that can bridge the gap between them and God. A believer is someone who has decided to trust Christ alone for his or her salvation.

 

If you have come to this point in your spiritual journey, then you are ready to be baptized. Just as a bride and groom tell of their love for one another through the symbol of rings, you should also want to show the world, through baptism, of your union with Christ. Let the miracle that has happened in you show through the sacrament He ordained for you.

What Baptism Symbolizes:
Baptism is a way of showing others that you have entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

It illustrates Christ’s burial and resurrection. When you are lowered into the water, that’s a picture of Jesus’ death and Him being buried in a tomb. When you come up out of the water, that’s a picture of His mighty resurrection. Baptism doesn’t just tell your story – it tells the story of Jesus.

It illustrates new life as a Christian. When you go under the water, it’s a picture of your old self being washed away. As a Christian, your old life is gone, and you’re a brand new person.

Baptism doesn’t make you a believer. It shows that you already are a believer. Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches us that we are saved by faith through grace, not by any action on our part. Baptism isn’t required for salvation, it’s a symbol that it’s already happened.

What’s The Process? How Can I Be Baptized At a2:
If you are ready to get baptized, you will need to complete the following two steps:

STEP ONE: Complete The Baptism Registration Form
If you intend to be baptized at a2 Church, please complete the a2 Church Water Baptism Registration form. We can email you the form. Shoot us an email at info@a2church.org.

STEP TWO: Get Baptized!
After receiving your completed registration form we will contact you about the next available opportunity for water baptism. (We’ll be conducting water baptisms throughout the Summer, so you won’t have to wait long…) We look forward to celebrating your new life in Christ!

Hey a2family! Trunk or Treat is coming up soon! Be sure to bring your friends, neighbors- why this will be so much fun you should even invite your cousins!

We’re encouraging everyone to decorate the trunk of their vehicle and be prepared to hand out awesome “Halloween” treats to a2kids following a2′s FX worship experience and pizza luncheon. Prizes will go to the BEST decorated vehicles!

Before Trunk or Treat, join us for pizza, games, laughter, and have LOTS of Fun! Reserve the date!!

Honor is something that is almost extinct in our culture. Most of us confuse it with respect. We think it’s something we can withhold based upon a person’s character, actions, attitude, performance or personality… But the Bible provides a different perspective on what honor is all about… It indicates that honor can transform the dating life of a single guy or gal, it can revolutionize a marriage,  change the way parents and kids relate to one another, rock your workplace and maybe even make a difference in your world!  More this Sunday at a2 Church.
