You Can Begin Again

April 28, 2009 by Bill Robbins

One of the cool things about David is how “real” and genuine this guy was…  He had an incredible passion for God, but his life was also littered with some pretty colossal failures and mistakes…

On the heels of one of the most infamous failures in his life, David experienced GRACE…extravagant grace…  He got a chance to begin again…  He got a clean slate and a new start…

Regardless of your failures…  Regardless of your mistakes…  You can begin again…

It’s the End of the World as We Know It

April 13, 2009 by Bill Robbins

Admit it…  The last nine months have been phenomenal in terms of earth-shaking, history-making events…  Sometimes it feels as if the world is literally falling apart.  That the systems and structures we’ve built our lives on are crumbling all around us.

What’s a guy or gal to do?  What’s a mom or dad to do?

A guy who wrote a number of songs in the book of Psalms lived through a similar period in world history…  The game was changing…  The earth was shaking…  Chaos was breaking…  Things were getting totally out of whack and insane…

He got loads of advice from a group of well meaning friends and even some people who wanted to do him in.  Both groups essentially said, “Get out of dodge.  Head for the hills.  Move to Montana.  Join a militia.  Build a bomb shelter.  Stock up on non-perishables and wait for Jesus to come…”

Somehow this guy answered fear’s advice with an incredible statement of faith that’s recorded in the book of Psalms and provides great insight for people living in 2009.

This Sunday get a fresh glimpse of a God who isn’t “freaking out” or calling for an emergency meeting with the other members of the Trinity…  He isn’t reaching for the medicine cabinet…  He hasn’t panicked.  He is in absolute and ultimate control.  He is large and in charge. The big, $20, theological word is “SOVEREIGN.”

This weekend worship is going to be “off the chain.”  I mean it! We are going to focus on our great, awesome, amazing, sovereign God.

The message is going to be “blue jeans, tennis shoes, white t-shirt” kind of stuff PRACTICAL – with an awe-inspiring view of the greatness and glory of our GREAT GOD.

Two item numbers are going to challenge you to keep believing – even if you’ve been“out in a cave, forty days…”

I am PUMPED about Sunday and look forward to seeing you this Sunday morning, 9:45 @ a2 Church.

For the Glory

April 6, 2009 by Chris Goins

What occurred during the last week of Jesus’ life and ministry? What was on Jesus’ mind as He entered into this week?   What was it that caused Him to focus so singularly and passionately on the cross?  What were His priorities?

What if Jesus’ priorities could be narrowed down to three simple objectives?

  • God’s glory!
  • His redemptive plan and purpose.
  • Your ULTIMATE good.

What difference would that make in your life?  Does this  sound like nothing but boring theology?  Then, you don’t understand the three ultimate objectives on the heart and mind of Jesus as He entered His last week of life and ministry.

Discover the difference these three priorities made in Jesus’ life and the effect they can have on yours.
